Local Legends Interview Series
NSA-NT brings a new program series, called the Local Legends- In this spotlight series, our own Niki McCuistion, CSP will be interviewing Chapter (and past Chapter) members who have been instrumental in developing our chapter. You'll learn more about the history of the chapter and about the heart and soul of our servant leaders and their businesses.
With many live (virtually streamed through ZOOM) interviews to watch and participate in, and a few pre-recorded interviews releases mixed in, be inspired in this NEW INTERVIEW SERIES.
About Bette Price
Bette served on NSA/NT’s Board of Directors for four years before becoming the Chapter’s two-time President –first from 1993-94, the again from 2000-2001. During her 1993-94 term she recommended, and the Board of Directors approved, to establish an award patterned after the prestigious national NSA Cavett Award, in honor of long-standing member Joseph J. Charbonneau who exemplified the epitome of the speaking profession. The award is officially named the Joseph J. Charbonneau Award.
Bette served as a mentor for several years, received the Chapter’s Member of the Year award and was honored with the Joseph J. Charbonneau Award. On a national basis Bette served a four-year term on the National Strategic Planning Committee, a two-year term as Chair of National’s Marketing Committee and Chair of the Editorial Advisory Committee for Professional Speaker Magazine.
For one year she served as editor of Professional Speaker Magazine and produced the organization’s first ever PSA (Pubic Service Announcement) to be used by television stations. Bette was twice honored with the National President’s Award—first from Al Walker, then Jim Rhode.
Bette established her management consulting firm, The Price Group, in 1982 and mixed professional speaking with consulting. Among her accomplishments is a $3- million start-up firm that she repositioned, leading them to take their revenues to $10-million in two years.

Niki produces the award winning McCuistion Program, now in its 29th year on KERA PBS TV, often working in challenging situations and crisis zones. Her responsibility includes the bottom line- raising the funds to produce the program and working with board members to achieve the mission.
From a business background that includes hands on service, sales, and management experience; and specialized education, including a B.S. in Psychology from Southern Methodist University, an M.L.A. in Philanthropy and Development from St. Mary’s University, an MBA in Leadership and Governance from the University of Dallas, and advanced course work and certifications in coaching, governance and strategy, Niki understands the unique issues facing nonprofits, businesses, and speakers today.
