About Tony Alessandra, CSP, CPAE

Dr. Tony Alessandra has a street-wise, college-smart perspective on business, having been raised in the housing projects of NYC to eventually realizing success as a graduate professor of marketing, Internet entrepreneur, business author, and hall-of-fame keynote speaker. He earned a BBA from Notre Dame, an MBA from the Univ. of Connecticut and his PhD in marketing in 1976 from Georgia State University.

Tony worked his way through college selling cookware door-to-door for Saladmaster, winning numerous sales awards. He taught sales and marketing strategy at the university level from 1970 through 1978. In January 1979, he left academia to become a full-time professional speaker. He averaged 100 paid speeches per year through 2000 and gradually cut back to near zero today. In 2000, he started his online assessment company and that has been his focus through the present time.

Tony is Founder & Chairman of Assessments 24x7 LLC, a company that offers a variety of online assessments, including the widely used DISC profile, the Emotional Intelligence 360 assessment, Motivators (Values/PIAV) assessment, and several 360º effectiveness assessments.

He is also a prolific author with 32 books translated into over 50 foreign language editions, from his first book in 1979, Non-Manipulative Selling to his most recent book in 2021, What Makes Humans Tick.

He is featured in over 100 audio/video programs and films, including Relationship Strategies; The Optimism Advantage; and The 10 Qualities of Charismatic People.

As a speaker, Tony joined NSA in 1979; earned his CSP in 1981; was inducted into the Speakers Hall of Fame in 1985, and has delivered well over 2,000 speeches and seminars throughout his professional speaking career.

Dr. Alessandra was inducted into the:

Tony was born in 1947 in NYC and graduated high school in New Jersey. He played baseball, track, football, wrestling & rugby through high school and college. He is very happily married to Sue since 1990 and between them, they have four children and three grandkids – two boys and one girl – plus one dog, Sparky.
