OPEN ROLES for 2024-2025:
Vice President
Vice President serves a four-year term in the Presidential Lineup:
- Year 1 (2024-2025) as Vice President - As VP, you'll coordinate special projects as assigned by that year's President, such as the Chapter's Auctions. You'll also attend the Chapter Leadership Institute upon approval of the Board of Directors for the funding of this trip.
- Year 2 as President-Elect (2025-2026) - As PE, you'll focus on the planning of the programs for the year in which you will serve the Chapter as President and other duties as assigned by that year's President. You'll also attend the Chapter Leadership Institute (per policies approved).
- Year 3 as President (2026-2027) - As President, you'll lead the Board, Leadership Team, and Membership which consists of Board Meetings and all other meetings throughout that year. You'll also represent the Chapter in conducting the business of the Chapter such as coordinating with contractors hired by the Chapter (Member Services VA, Social Media Manager, Bookkeeping/Accounting, Website, Meeting Technology) and meeting locations.
- Year 4 as Immediate Past-President (2027-2028) - As Past President, you'll lead the Nominating Committee and any other duties as assigned by that year's President.
- Membership with NSA National is required to serve in this role.
Treasurer
Treasurer serves a two-year term as a Voting Member of the Board:
- Ensures that NSA-NT Chapter is financially solvent and aligned with NSA-NT Policies and Procedures and By-Laws.
- Coordinates development of annual budget. Analyze monthly financials and summarize for each board meeting.
- Capture and properly file required documents and annual financial reports, monthly or as required.
- Provide annual update of finances to members in April Chapter meeting.
- Review and approve expense items, submitting them to bookkeeper with 5 days of receipt.
- Oversee bookkeeper to ensure that Quickbooks is accurate and up to date.
- Operating Cash and Savings Account - ensure that Reserve criteria detailed in NSA NT Policies is adhered to. Reference NSA NT Policies: Section XIII.C.
- Membership with NSA National is required to serve in this role.

Director of Membership
Director of Membership serves a two-year term as a Voting Member of the Board:
- Director of Membership oversees the membership endeavors of the Chapter and ensures the member value, connection of the NSA-NT Chapter is of the highest quality.
- Ensures the recruitment and retention efforts of the Chapter, Board and Leadership Team aligning with the Chapter President's vision.
- Increase current members retention and that members, new and renewing, feel welcomed and included by the Chapter.
- Report on Membership numbers at the Board meetings.
- Update Membership roster from Kajabi to Google Sheets for Board Access.
- Welcome new members: 1st day mail notecard, +7 days phone call, +14 days remind President to make a personal welcome call.
- Coordinate for someone from the Membership Committee or a Board Member to call new members 7-14 days before their first meeting as a member to personally invite to register for the meeting.
- Coordinate for someone from the Membership Committee or Board to do a Touchpoint call to new members at 60 & 120 days after joining.
- Plan & coordinate NSA-NT Open House events as directed by the President.
- Connect with first time guests as they register for a meeting with 1st time guest welcome email and invite to a Chapter Overview pre-meeting session.
- Conduct and/or coordinate for someone to conduct a Chapter Overview session prior to at the Chapter Meeting (VIRTUAL and On-Site) including preparing membership folders.
- Encourage members to invite guests to chapter meetings & other event.
- Coordinate with Virtual Member Services to set up Speaker and First Time guest passes in Kajabi each month.
- Provide Director of Programs a link to send to the Speaker two weeks before with (5) complimentary guest passes.
- Send 1st time guests a handwritten note and follow up email within 1 week of the meeting attended.
- Assign phone calls and/or send emails to those who have yet to renew membership from previous year.
- Maintain comparison data & records on current members, recent past members & prospective members to report to the Board.
- Oversee assigned committees and report on their behalf at Board Meeting.
- Assist in the evaluation of the Charbonneau Award candidate.
- Coordinate with President for the Membership Mailing during the renewal period
- Coordinate with President for the Holiday letter/Greeting Card from NSA-NT Executive Board to all members
- Oversees the Membership Team: Volunteer Coordinator, Spirit of Cavett, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Coordinator, Social Event Coordinator, Meeting Greeter Leader, New Chapter Connectors mentorship Program Coordinator and eSpeakers Coordinator to ensure their tasks are completed and roles are trained and cross-trained.
Director of Technology
Director of Technology serves a two-year term as a Voting Member of the Board:
- Director of Technology oversees the digital footprint of the Chapter and ensures the success of the virtual events, hybrid streamed events, and technology.
- Directly responsible for the coordination and implementation of the streaming and in room technology for Monthly Meeting.
- Maintains and monitors the NSA-NT ZOOM account.
- Oversees the Zoom Coordinator Team and ensures that every virtual and hybrid event has a trained Zoom Coordinator to host and produce the event determining the highest quality of digital outcome.
- Coordinates changes with the Director of Marketing to the www.Speaker.org website and communicates with the webmaster.
- Reviews and as needed improves the invoices from the Technology suppliers (webmaster and AV tech).
- Director of Technology leads the Technology Team, which consists of the Technology coordinator, the Zoom Coordinator and the Zoom Team, Meeting photographer(s), and contractors hired by the Chapter for website development, and the AV Tech Team.
About the Nominations process:
You may nominate yourself or another member. If nominating someone, please ensure they are interested in serving in that role and are a member in good standing (see below) prior to nominating them.
Roles with more than one nominee will require an election process to be held in May 2024. For such contested elections, the answers to these questions may be made available to Chapter Members.

About serving on the Board of Directors:
The NSA-NT Board of Directors are voting roles. Board of Director roles are working roles and are considered part of the Chapter Leadership Team. Their purpose is to serve Chapter Membership.
For Board of Directors, attending the Board Meetings on the Mondays before the Monthly Meetings from 4:30 to 6:00 pm is required. Board Meetings are optional for non-voting Leadership Team Members, although they are encouraged to attend. All Leadership Team members are expected to attend events (virtually or face-to-face), contribute to fundraisers like the Holiday Auction, and attend the annual Leadership Team Retreat in June and Board Vision retreat (voting Board members only).
These roles represent the Chapter's members, Leadership Team, Board of Directors, business, and the Speaking Industry to prospective members and the community throughout the term. As such, one is expected to conduct themselves as a role model at all times.
What does "Member in Good Standing" mean?
Per the Chapter Policies and Procedures Manual, to serve on the Leadership Team, including the Board of Directors, you must be a member in good standing. This means you've attended five (5) of the ten (10) Monthly Meetings (virtually or face-to-face) in the last rolling year.
